Artist Biography
Visual Artist | Creative Director
Camila Urrego is an Oslo-based visual artist and creative director working across photography, architecture, design, and emerging technologies. With over a decade of experience in visual arts, her interdisciplinary practice explores the relationship between physical environments, human perception, and synthetic realities.
Grounded in photographic observation and spatial thinking, Urrego investigates how images can move beyond documentation to become instruments of speculation and transformation. Through an iterative dialogue between photography and artificial intelligence, she explores the boundaries between human intention and computational interpretation, questioning conventional notions of reality, representation, and authorship.
Her editorial work includes coverage of international fashion events such as Oslo Runway, Copenhagen Fashion Week, and Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo.
Alongside her commercial practice, Urrego develops independent artistic research exploring perception, natural environments, and computational image-making. In 2026, she presented the first AI-photography art exhibition: " What We Call Real: An Inquiry into Co-Authored Perception" at Fotografiens Hus in Oslo, investigating how photography and artificial intelligence influence our understanding of reality.
Her practice moves between the physical and the digital, the human and the machine, and art and science, exploring these not as separate disciplines but as interconnected ways of understanding, interpreting, and reimagining reality.
